Ages & Inches

Ages & Inches

By ages and inches across the blue deep,
continents leisurely drift,
green dreams in springtime
awake from their sleep,
while through a million million stars,
another million sift.

By ages and inches trees aspire
upwards, and mountains lift,
moles burrow deep, birds sing in choir,
while through a million million stars,
another million sift.

By ages and inches jungles creep,
like a green beribboned gift,
beginnings and ends in
a leopard’s leap,
while through a million million stars,
another million sift.
